So many of us are staying home right now and are missing many of the holiday traditions we love. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. There’s no reason not to dress for the festive season no matter what’s happening . So I decided to put together a holiday capsule wardrobe with some items that I already have around. These outfits can get you through the whole week before Christmas and keep you in the holiday spirit. Who says a capsule wardrobe has to be bland?
The capsule consists of:
- 1 metallic tshirt
- 1 black t shirt
- One men’s white button down
- One black cardigan
- 1 red cardigan
- One great Christmas sweater
- 3 red skirts
- 3 pairs of slippers
- 1 fleece lined tights
- 1 red leggings
So let me show you the 4 outfits I put together and you will be able to see with a little mixing and matching you can easily get a few more. Add a couple of accessories and maybe a white tshirt or a sweatshirt and you could get all the way through to mid January!
This is my husband’s white shirt tied up in front. A midi length red cotton skirt along with red leggings and my favorite sheepskin slippers. This outfit is perfect for everything from baking cookies to taking a little nap. I love napping. My zebra print Santa hat is from a few years ago but it always makes an appearance in December.
This is the same midi cotton skirt with my metallic gold t-shirt and my super fun Christmas Sweater. I also have sequin Santa slippers and leggings. I love this outfit for zoom and facetime with the family. The t-shirt is so shiny but also very comfortable. Perfect for a little reading of Christmas stories on the couch. The wrap skirts are fabulous for this time of year when there is plenty of snacking happening.
Here is a Tea Length Satin wrap skirt with a plain black t-shirt and a red cardigan. I’m wearing my extra warm knitted slipper socks with this since I have no plans on leaving the house.
For Christmas Eve I love this Maxi Taffeta skirt with my black t-shirt and a black sparkly cardigan. (This taffeta maxi isn’t listed on my site but you can get one in your favorite color by choosing the custom skirt option.) Under this maxi I’m wearing fleece lined tights which keep me toasty warm all winter. You can see the white of them peaking out in that photo up there. I love dressing up on Christmas Eve. It’s the night we have a big fancy dinner at home. I have historically done all of the wrapping on Christmas Eve. That’s because there were 4 kids running around and I loved keeping the mystery of Santa so I never put the gifts under the tree until after everyone was in bed. Now with all of the kids grown and the ones still at home no longer believing in Santa Claus I can put some presents out earlier and so I do but there is always last minute wrapping to do.
Now what isn’t showing is my comfy bra. There are two that I love. The first comes from Torrid and the other is a bralette made to support larger ladies from a company called Truekind which I got from Shapermint. Super comfortable. Check those companies out if you are c cup or larger. You won’t be sorry. Not an ad. I’m just a fan.
I hope you have loved my red based capsule wardrobe for the holidays. It was super fun to put together. I have big plans for more fun capsules coming up in 2021. Stay tuned. And to get notifications sign up for my biggest fans list and get a coupon for $25 off of any skirt order.
