Spring is Coming

January and February are cold here in Michigan. In past years I refused to complain about the cold because summer was so hot and I am not a fan of the heat. You see, in the winter you can always add more layers to keep you warm. In the summer there is a point at which it is no longer appropriate to remove anymore clothing…

But, I have an autoimmune disease that is making it more and more difficult to regulate my body temperature. I find myself adding and removing layers all day now. So I look forward to spring and fall which really only last a short time. As I am looking forward to spring I decided to make a new dress to be fully prepared when it arrives. Notice all of the photos are taken inside since there is a blanket of snow on the ground outside.

The pattern for this dress was designed and drafted by me. I am happy that my pattern making skills are advancing so that I can move forward to making anything that I can dream up. I do love these very simple bodices that show off the beautiful fabrics. If you would like to learn more about the making of this dress you can read about it on the Minerva blog.
