The last weekend in July we took a trip to Vermont. there were 2 reasons we went. 1. My sister lives there and my parents and my brother and his wife were all going so it was a bit of a family reunion. 2. A guy my sister knows was getting out of the fabric business and my mom and I decided to go and check it out.
We did a couple of things I had never done before over this weekend. I rode on a 4 wheeler (which I didn’t like), I rode in a jeep without doors off road (that was fun). I met a friend of my sister’s, she keeps her bees on his property. He and his wife make maple syrup every year. It was fantastic listening to him talk about maple syrup and I told him I had always wanted to try since we have four maple trees in our front yard but I had always heard that it’s difficult. He made it sound simple and then gave me a tap so I could try it with one tree in the spring and see what happens. I’m excited. So that’s something to look forward to!

Anyway, my mom and I did buy out the fabric guy and we loaded all the fabric in three cars and drove it to my sister’s house and then my mom and i had to go back and get the rest. There was way more than we had anticipated.
My mom makes custom bags. Handbags, purses, duffels, totes, anything you want really. She’s amazing at it. Here are a few of her most recent design.

I took the fabrics that I thought would work for me. It was probably about 20% of the total rolls. Initially I thought I only wanted 6 or 8 of the fabrics so every bit I put in my car my sister and brother teased me about. Lucky for me, Lousmith is super understanding.

I’ll show you some up close shots as I get to work on them this week so check out my stories on Instagram or Facebook to see what’s up. I did get it narrowed down by posting some polls on IG last week. I’ll show you the three I’ll be starting with immediately.
If you love any of those keep your eyes on my webstore and be sure to let me know what your size is so I can make the right one for you.
